The rebuilding period. I moved to Milwaukee and the winter came. Because I worked at night I never saw the sun. Slowly the Midwestern culture filtered California from my blood. I learned to rise again in the morning. I had a friend who helped me restore my virtue. The paintings were messy and quickly made but an element of brightness and hope entered into them.
